Get Involved

There’s more than one way that you can help.

Whether you want to fundraise, volunteer on site, help train the brumbies, sponsor or donate to Mountain Brumby Sanctuary, there are plenty of ways to join us in making a real difference to the lives of these wonderful brumbies.

Volunteer

We always welcome new volunteers at the sanctuary. Located in regional Broadford, Victoria there is always a lot of work to do.

Prior horse experience is not essential, we will train you.

All you need is a willing attitude, closed toed shoes and a passion for brumbies.

Public transport not available within walking distance of the sanctuary.

Adopt a Brumby

All our brumbies are eventually available for adoption once they are ready.  This enables us to keep taking in new brumbies as they are trapped out of the parks.

We will list our available brumbies when they are ready both here on our website and on our Facebook page.

If you are interested in adopting a brumby, please fill out our expression of interest form and we will be in touch with you.

Please note that our focus is on doing what is right for the brumby and ensuring that they go to the best home for them.

Our brumbies are not adopted out sight unseen.

Training

In addition to general volunteering at the sanctuary, we are always looking for more help to train our brumbies.

Training includes basic handling and halter training.  Our brumbies are generally rehomed with basic handling skills so that they can be safely and calmly transported.

We are looking for quiet and calm handlers to assist with helping get our brumbies ready to go to their new homes.
